November Lesson Plan
As always, we’ll start our class with sun salutations and a breathing exercise!
Class 1: Today we will practice yoga with a friend. There are several great yoga poses to do with a partner and it helps us create a sense of teamwork, even for our littlest yogis! We will practice double dog (downward dog with 2 people), lizard on a rock and elevator poses.
Class 2: “Yogi Says.” We will play Simon Says with a variety of yoga poses.

Class 3: Pick a card! We will be using our yoga cards at least 1 class per month. The yogis will get to select cards from the deck to learn a variety of new poses and practice old favorites. We will learn the poses from the cards together! We will also work on out yoga breathing as well as balancing poses such as airplane and tree.

Class 4: Story day! Today our yoga teacher will tell a special story as we work through calming and energy building poses.

Class 1: Today we will focus on being strong! Warrior, plank and half moon will be just a few of our strength building poses today.
​
Class 2: There are all kinds of fun songs we can sing when we practice yoga. Today we’ll learn an easy one that allows the teacher and yogis to call out their favorite poses. Ask your child to sing the song and practice with you!
“Yoga, yoga, yoga, it makes me big and strong. My favorite pose is ________ and I can do it all day long!”

Class 3: Pick a card! We will be using our yoga cards at least 1 class per month. The yogis will get to select cards from the deck to learn a variety of new poses and practice old favorites. We will learn the poses from the cards together! We will start with our Sun Salutation; during our Cobra pose in Sun Salutation, we will slither around and make snake sounds. We will practice our balancing with tree and eagle poses today as well.

Class 4: Animals! Yoga has many different animal named poses and we will practice many of them today: Cat, Cow, Lion, Dog (Downward and Upward-facing Dog), Gorilla and Camel.

September Lesson Plan
Class 1: Space Party! Today we will land in outer space as we learn (or review) Mountain pose, downward facing dog and tree. We will also learn our Sun Salutation which is done in every class (like doing stretches before sports). We will learn the word Namaste, which is a word we end class with. It’s a nice way to say thank you to our friends for doing yoga with us!
"Space Party" may not be used for our older school age yogis :)

Class 2: Pick a card! The yogis will get to select cards from a yoga deck with a variety of new poses. We will learn the poses from the cards together! As with every class, we will start with our Sun Salutation; during our Cobra post in Sun Salutation, we will slither around and make snake sounds. Today, we will also learn about our “final relaxation” and how it can help us rest and also give us more energy.

Class 3: Silly to Calm. We will practice some of our silly stretches and poses (grasshopper, frog) and mix in some of our calm poses (child’s pose, mountain pose, and practice “being heavy” meaning totally relaxing)
