Owner / Director
Dance and Yoga Instructor
I began dancing at a small studio in Fairport, NY at age 4, then went on to Fitzsimmons Dance Factory, where I danced through high school in the opening number competition class. During my time at Fitzsimmons, I had the opportunity to take classes in NYC at Broadway Dance Center and at New York City Dance Alliance from world-renowned instructors including Mia Michaels (judge/choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance).
In 1998, I started Creative Kids Dance. Rather than opening a traditional dance studio, I decided to bring my instruction to childcare centers and schools, traveling in and around the Rochester area. I knew I loved working with children, but didn’t realize how much until I started receiving phone calls and notes from parents telling me how much their child loves dance and the positive impact it was having on them.
In 2004, I expanded and brought on a teaching staff.
In 2010, I completed my yoga certification and began offering yoga classes to childcare centers. In 2016, we officially became Creative Kids Dance & Yoga, LLC and now partner with more than 40 childcare centers and schools in the Rochester area!
Through continuing education, we are constantly working to bring our students the best childhood dance and yoga classes. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than teaching children. It's amazing to see and be a part of a child's development. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to pass our passion along to your children!
I started dancing at Images In Dance (Batavia, NY) at the age of seven. While dancing there I took classes at the American Academy of Ballet (Clarence, NY) and at the Buffalo City Ballet (Buffalo, NY) as well. I then moved my training to the Little Red Dancing School (Rochester, NY). While studying there I took additional classes at the Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and the New York City Dance Alliance.
In 1997, I joined the dance team for the Rochester Rhinos and in 1998 I was on the dance team for the Buffalo Blizzards. In 1998, I began teaching at Dance 22 (Webster, NY) and continued teaching there until 2001. I was also the Dance Director for the Town of Henrietta Recreational Programs from 1998 through 2000. In the summer of 1998, I worked at Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Pennsylvania and worked as a Gymnastics Assistant for the Town of Pittsford Recreational Programs.
In 1999, I became a founding member of The Dance Theater Project (an improvisational dance company) which performed in Rochester and Buffalo, NY. I also started at Centerstage (Rochester, NY) and continued there until 2001.
In 2001, my husband and I moved to Japan and I began teaching dance and gymnastics on Misawa Air Force Base. I was the Dance and Gymnastics Coordinator there until August 2005. Since my return, I have taught for TNT Dance Explosion, Fusion Dance Center and Bright Raven Gymnastics as well as Creative Kids!

I began dancing when I was 3 years old. Growing up a competitive dancer, I was fortunate enough to take class from many different teachers...even famout ones like Travis Wall and Twitch from So You Think You Can Dance!
I began my teaching journey when I was just a senior in high school and with over 10 years of teaching, I continue to love it more and more. In addition to Creative Kids, I teach at Premier Dance Center in Greece, NY where my students have won many achievements.
I find so much joy in teaching dance. In addition to the many dance steps I have the opportunity to teach, I also have the opportunity to pass on many life lessons dance has taught me...dedication, teamwork and most of all PASSION! I look forward to sharing my love of dance with your child!

Dancing since a very young age, I have been teaching in the Rochester area for over 25 years. I performed and traveled with the Walt Disney Co. and was a dance major at SUNY Brockport. I graduated with a BS in Psychology and pursued 2 years of graduate studies in school psychology. My classes are designed based on appropriate physical, cognitive and social development.
Over the years, my students at Visions Dance have successfully performed throughout the US in competitions, charity events, theme parks, colleges, and performance companies. Working with Creative Kids, I have the opportunity to pass on my love of dance to dancers just getting started!
I've been practicing yoga and meditation for many years and love passing on my love of the practice in a fun way to the littlest yogis.
I'm also a cancer survivor, and use my experience to make each day and class count!

Dance and Yoga Instructor
I grew up dancing at Little Red Dancing School where I trained under Lisa Allain and Cayla Allen. I studied all styles of dance during my time at the studio. I attended the University at Buffalo for college and graduated with a BFA in Dance. While at UB, I danced with the resident dance company, Zodiaque.
In addition to my training in Rochester and Buffalo, I spent numerous summers training in LA, NYC and Chicago. I was fortunate to achieve scholarships to many summer dance programs allowing me to broaden my education. I also spent time living in NYC, where I interned for Broadway Dance Center and continued my training.
My professional performance credits include dancing in Opryland’s productions of Boots, Boogie and Blues and Christmas at the Palace in Tennessee as one of the two female dancers in the show. I also performed for Artpark in Lewiston, NY where I was cast as Eliza in their production of “The King and I” and as a featured dancer in “Copacabana.” I am also one of the original members of LehrerDance, a modern based dance company in Buffalo, NY. I toured nationally with the company performing and teaching.
I have been fortunate to teach in both Buffalo and Rochester at numerous studios throughout the areas including Pittsford Dance Studio, where I taught competitive, as well as, non -competitive classes for the past 12 years!
I have a true passion for teaching and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with your children in a fun, educational environment!
